Small Wonders, Folk Art Painting

Framing quote available upon request

I use lightweight sketch paper as under paper on my painting table. I blot excess paint and clean off my tools on this paper as I’m working. Sometimes I see things in the random marks and color and edges of things, and a painting is born on the under paper.

There is a natural rippling of the paper due to its weight combined with my approach to it.

Acrylic Mixed Media Painting

  • on Fabriano Sketch paper

  • approx 16 ½ x 7 ¼ inches

The "artist's hand" is evident in all of my work- smudges, imperfections, crinkles, etc.

Photo: Colors will/may vary in person. I do my best to represent the actual colors, but my photography and photo editing skills have their limits.

Please note:

  • Information about the care of your original artwork will be included in your package when necessary.

  • Paintings on paper: I allow the acrylic paint and mediums I use throughout the process on my sketchings and paintings on paper to suffice as they are without a varnish because these works need to be framed. When framing, please choose a UV protected glass/plexi.

  • Paintings on wood & wood carvings: These paintings are sealed with a final coat of cold wax medium for longevity which yields a slightly longer shipping timeline as I don't seal them until they've sold.

  • Encaustic works:

    • When buffing is needed, some pigment may transfer to your lint free buffing cloth- no harm done.

    • If a handmade wire hanger has been added, it can be gently manipulated to balance the item for hanging on a nail.

    • When necessary bumpers or a skim coat of chalk paint have been added to keep your wall/surface free from any wax remnants on the underside of the work.
